Lying or Cheating
I was talking to someone on Facebook the other day and we ended up talking about lying and cheating in relationships, and I told her I think I could forgive my girlfriend for cheating (I don't know why, but I think I would), but I wouldn't forgive her and stay with her if she lied to me.
Which is easier for you to forgive in a relationship?
a. Lying
b. Cheating
c. It depends on why they lied/cheated
d. This post was way too long for me to finish with my ADD.

if there was e, i'd choose e.
C
lying.. would be really rough... cheating.. i'm out. immediately..
I think it depends on the point in the relationship when that happens...
I'd never forgive cheating. Lying, I guess it depends on the nature of the lie, but that would be unlikely too. Trust is a big deal I think in a relationship.
Isn't cheating a form of lying? I think I'd consider them pretty equal
were you lying when you said you'd forgive her for cheating?
Lying, turkey boy, is much easier to forgive in my case.
er... i sort of agree with you, a tiny bit.
what if they lied ABOUT cheating?
now that, i would definitely have a problem with. of course, i'd still have a problem with cheating, but if he came to me about it as soon as it happened, it would be easier to forgive.
Lying. I would forgive cheating... but I guess it depends on the lie too... Idk. Lying.
And to answer your question, D. ;)
I couldn't handle either. It's hard for me to trust anyone, so if they lie to me, I can barely recover from it. And I have zero self esteem, so if they cheat, I'll hate myself for the rest of my life.
Oh, if only it was all so black and white.
for me, C.
i think it really depends on the situation and the details.
every relationship is different.
Cheating IS lying!
C
I think cheating usually involves some form of lying.
I don't know if I could forgive someone for cheating on me. But lying? Everyone lies occasionally so I think I could handle that, as long as it wasn't anything too awful.
I would like to think I could forgive E, but I don't know if I could after going through all the crap my father has put my family through with his lying and cheating.
It would take an act of God to make me stay with him if he cheated
That's because you're a desperate guy.
cheating is lying, so it's kind of a moot point.
the reasoning does matter though.... so c?
C of course.
But cheating is lying isnt it?
d. (but not ADD, OCD... ;)
but seriously, my real answer would be...a. lying
@saintvi - Agreed.
Whatever the reason is, I think I couldn't handle both. Ain't got the strength.
I would say c.
Cheating would most likely be an automatic out but it would depend on what exactly they lied about for me...
They're both oh so tempting to do.
